The International Federation of Professional Players, Vivpro, has warned that the emerging crisis of the Corona Virus (Covid 19-) threatens the existence of women's football.

In a report published on Sunday, the Football Federation called on the governing bodies of football to take measures to protect players and build a firmer foundation for the game.

"The current situation is likely to pose almost a threat to the existence of the women's soccer game if no specific considerations are put in place to protect its industry," Vivpro added.

Vivpro expressed concern that the lack of standards could leave players in particular at the risk of losing their livelihood.

He added that due to his lesser-known championships, lower female players ’salaries, few opportunities available to him, asymmetric sponsorship deals and less corporate investment, the fragility of the women's football ecosystem is severely affected by the current situation.
