The president of the Iraqi National Paralympic Committee had expected, during his appearance on a TV program, that the 2020 Olympics would not take place as a result of a number of accelerating global events in all fields. He said in the television clip: “I have a strong belief that the Olympic Games in Tokyo will not take place on time. The same for the World Cup 2022 ».
Aqil Hamid attributed his view at the time to the exposure of the world to a major event that will change the equation before the start of the Summer Olympics, and will push the organizers to postpone the Olympic Games and may be canceled, as he put it then.
