Despite quarantine and the abolition of mass events, a conflict between the president of the Russian Skiing Federation Elena Vyalbe and journalist Dmitry Guberniev flared up with renewed vigor in the Russian sporting environment. This time, Vyalbe became the initiator of the correspondence dispute. The three-time Olympic champion said that she “guards interference” of Guberniev’s team, and stressed that the journalist is “trying in every way” to go “beyond”.

“The commentator needs to comment ... I think everyone should do their own thing. At one time, Dmitry was an excellent commentator. We remember that very well. But now he seems to have a very big conceit, ”Vyalbe said in an interview with Sport-Express.

At the same time, the functionary added that she would not want the journalist to comment on her sport.

“I don’t want him to comment on cross-country skiing ... I think it’s necessary to end this, because tomorrow all the media will write about it. Dmitry will certainly respond, receive, as he says, hype. To consider himself the greatest is his right. But I believe that we do not need such a commentator, ”Vyalbe emphasized.

Guberniev’s response, as the president of the FLGR suggested, did not really take long. Just half an hour after the news was posted, the commentator sharply criticized Vyalbe in his Telegram channel.

“My God, how can one react to this absolutely senseless speech flow? To express your thoughts clearly and think - this is not for you to hold championships in the midst of a pandemic. I swear by the pale shadow of the former governor of the Arkhangelsk region. It's not up to hype, it's a clinic. Poor woman, ”wrote Guberniev.

At the same time, he emphasized that Vyalbe’s answers relating directly to the sports component were allegedly of no interest to anyone.

“Guys, you understand that everything that this woman said about skiing doesn’t need anyone to hell! It’s only interesting about me, ”Guberniev said.

Recently, Guberniev often becomes a defendant in public scandals. So, only recently he had a conflict with two-time Olympic champion in biathlon and the winner of the Olympic skiing race Anfisa Reztsova. It all started with the fact that the journalist, who repeatedly urged all Russians to strictly comply with quarantine rules, harshly criticized the athlete, who admitted that she did not comply with them. The commentator stated that he “despised” Reztsov and called for a different name to be given to the stadium in Khimki.

The famous skier and biathlete did not become silent in response either.

“Who is he to say that? This is a nightmare, just a nightmare ... Guberniev trampled me into such dirt that I can’t find the words. And how do I deal with such people? I wanted to call and say to him: “Dima, can you cover your mouth sometimes?” - quotes Reztsovoy Sport24.

A few days later, she admitted that she intends to sue the commentator. She was supported by another illustrious athlete in this matter, ex-president of the RBU Alexander Tikhonov, who urged other people offended by Guberniev to go to court, including Vyalbe and Yuri Semin.

The commentator repeatedly harshly spoke out against Semin. The last time he criticized the column of the head coach of Lokomotiv in one of the major sports publications on April 10, in which the specialist stood up for the players and expressed surprise at the fact that they are trying to cut their salaries during a pandemic.

“Oh, I read an open letter from the best trainer of the universe last year, Yuri Semin. Say, do not touch the salaries of players. On the contrary, the state should help football mourners. Yuri Pavlovich, have you been bitten by a silver doe? ” - wrote Guberniev.

As for the journalist’s conflict with Välbe, he flared up last year on the eve of the World Ski Championships in Austrian Seefeld. Guberniev was supposed to work at the tournament, but the head of the federation was not too pleased. She emphasized that “she will try to protect athletes from endless interviews,” and also called the commentator “more of a showman than a journalist.”

After this, the parties periodically exchanged barbs. So, in mid-March, Guberniev criticized the FLGR for trying to organize the Russian championship in the Arkhangelsk region after the ban on holding mass events because of the coronavirus pandemic.

“You need to be idiots round to try to hold a ski championship these days!” For such organizers of people's lives, the health of athletes and coaches does not matter. Once again: this is more than a mistake - this is a crime, ”Guberniev wrote.
