For this reason, the Civil Guard and the DGT, at the request of the Ministry of the Interior, have intensified controls on the roads. Also at dawn, to avoid that some take advantage of this period and make improper movements.

That is why it never hurts to remember which are the seven cases in which taking the car is authorized, situations regulated in the Royal Decree issued by the Government that regulates the state of alarm.

  • To return to habitual residence
  • To commute to work
  • To assist and care for elderly or dependent people

    • It should be remembered that, for example in the case of buying basic necessities, it must be done in the nearest supermarket. Failure to do so will result in a fine. Furthermore, the authorities may require the driver to provide proof that they are indeed making an essential trip . In case of not complying with these assumptions, the sanctions would reach up to 30,000 euros in the most serious case .

    Individual trips must be prioritized. If you have to share a car to make any of the assumptions contemplated, you must justify it and the person who accompanies you must do so in the back seat.
