While the Parisian hospitals, on the front lines to fight against the epidemic of new coronavirus, are overloaded, the health authorities have designated the U Arena of Defense to welcome in turn patients. According to Le Parisien , Jacky Lorenzetti, the president of the resident club (Racing 92) and the former Minister of Sports Jean-François Lamour proposed this solution in order to relieve Paris hospital staff and relieve congestion in the capital's establishments.

The enclosure has "clearly identified by the authorities, namely the Regional Health Agency, to host an emergency aid center with these heated equipment that has all the necessary amenities," confirmed Lamour. Inaugurated in October 2017, the U Arnea has a multi-purpose annex room that has already been used to house the homeless for the past two years when the Great Cold plan was launched.

Currently, the Racing stadium is used to condition the meal trays distributed to the homeless. In Spain, a similar measure was taken in Madrid where the Santiago-Bernabeu stadium is used as a logistical base to store and manage medical equipment in Madrid hospitals.
