The Board of Directors of the Bodybuilding and Fitness Federation, headed by Sheikh Abdullah bin Hamad bin Saif Al Sharqi, decided to continue to suspend the establishment of various bodybuilding and physical strength championships that were scheduled this month, until further notice, in line with the prevailing situation in the world and official directives regarding precautionary measures Against the threat of the spread of the Corona virus emerging (Covid 19).

The new decision is a continuation of a previous decision to stop the activity in early March, by postponing three championships that were approved in March: the Powermate championship for physical strength in Dubai, the Ajman bodybuilding and physical championship, and the Dubai beach championship for bodybuilding and physical.

"The safety of people comes first, and the scheduling of tournaments will be rescheduled after the end of the Corona virus crisis," Federation Secretary-General Mohamed Al-Marri said in an interview with Emirates Today.

Al-Marri appreciated the national sterilization program implemented by the official authorities in the country in cooperation with the Ministry of Interior and Health, stressing that the owners of sport related to bodybuilding are keeping pace with precautionary measures to limit the spread of the virus, and that the players of the national teams who train in their homes realize the responsibility incumbent on them during this period .
