Tottenham Hotspur decided to cut the salaries of 550 employees by 20% due to the Corona virus crisis.

Tottenham will use the British government's job retention scheme because of the Corona virus crisis, as workers can get up to 80% of their salaries to keep their job.

Club president Daniel Levy, who earned 7 million pounds (8.6 million dollars) last season, will be among the employees who will be initially discounted in April and May.

Levy said in a statement: "Only now, we are beginning to feel the impact of the overwhelming destruction of industries in many countries, the interruption of international trade and travel in all aspects of daily life."
