Ajax Amsterdam has canceled the contract of Abdelhak Nouri , a young soccer player who suffered cardiac arrest in the summer of 2017 during a preseason game that caused brain damage and kept him in a coma for months, and who is currently recovering from aftermath at home.

Ajax has continued to pay his salary during this time , and has now decided to cancel his contract, which was automatically renewed on July 1, as announced by the Dutch media.

The club is in talks with Nouri's family to study how to help them through this difficult situation. During these months, the relatives have requested compensation from the club, considering that the medical treatment to which the player was subjected at the time of the strike was "inadequate" .
