Due to the corona pandemic, many companies in the community have short-term permits for their employees.

Last week, it became clear that even sports clubs could lay off players. Several SHL clubs have chosen to rope, but on the refereeing front, everyday life continues just as usual. The eleven fixed-term employees are now in full swing preparing for the upcoming season and all have an agreement that extends over, at least, next season.

- They work on just as usual. The only difference is that they have no matches to judge at the moment. The referees had gone out during the playoffs and now we are working towards the next season.

- We are adding physical preparation, training, tests, rules and various projects. For example, communication about how we communicate in the arena. We have to assume that we are getting started, that's all.

Has this affected you financially?

- Not yet. Then we will see what comes out of this in the end.

In addition to the eleven fixed-term judges, there are also six main referees and 20 linemen who judge per assignment, ie per match.

- They are not allowed to judge any matches now, but all of them have other jobs aside.
