Hadadi wrote sports history in London 2012 when he, as the first Iranian athlete, won an Olympic medal. He got a silver with him.

The 35-year-old has his training base in the United States but was infected when he was at home in Tehran. After being diagnosed, Hadadi quarantined.

- His recovery is going well, says the Iranian Athletics Association's team doctor to the news agency Tasnim.

Last year, Hadadi threw 67.19 and was tenth in the world best list, topped by Daniel Ståhl with 71.86.
