The Premier League, the English Football Association and the Association of Professional Players in England are preparing for difficult decisions and are seriously trying to consider reducing the salaries of English club players at various levels to meet the current financial crisis resulting from the cessation of football activity after the outbreak of the Corona virus.

The Sun newspaper revealed that the English Premier League stars will suffer financial losses totaling more than 110 million euros, as a measure to fight the economic crisis.

This decision also comes due to the suffering of the small English clubs a lot in the current days, due to the outbreak of the virus, which could prompt the soccer bodies in England to take immediate action to reduce the salaries of huge stars, to help the small clubs.

The newspaper added that the salary cut by 20 percent for all players, for the next three months, is a measure that has been discussed recently between clubs and unions.

A previous statistic had revealed that the Premier League clubs spent 2.2 billion euros annually, on the players ’salaries, and the reduction would mean the stars waiving 117 million euros annually.

According to the newspaper, the cut would mean the waiver of major league stars, such as Belgian Kevin de Bruyne, Egypt's Mohamed Salah, and German Massoud Ozil, for approximately 840,000 euros per player, in the three-month period, and the amount could rise to 1 million euros for some players.
And the soccer authorities announced in a joint statement, that a soon agreement to face the economic crisis will be announced soon.
