New patients

The coronavirus pandemic continues to affect world sports stars. So, Juventus footballer Paulo Dybala became the third player in the Turin team to whom the doctors made this diagnosis. Dybala spoke about the positive test on his Twitter. Along with him, his girlfriend, Argentinean pop singer Oriana Sabatini, became infected.

“Hello everyone, I just wanted to tell you that we got the results of the COVID-19 test. Both I and Oriana have a positive result. Fortunately, we are in excellent conditions. Thank you for your messages, ”wrote Dybala.

This information was confirmed in Juventus. The club’s press service reported that the player has been at home in self-isolation since March 11 and feels good, as the disease proceeds without symptoms. Observation of it will continue as usual.

Just a few hours later it became known that a coronavirus infection was diagnosed with the technical director of Milan and the legendary ex-player of the club Paolo Maldini, as well as his 18-year-old son Daniel, who followed in his father's footsteps and managed to make his debut in the Italian championship before suspension. In “Milan” noted that both of them are doing well and have already been in isolation for two weeks, however, their diagnosis has only become known now. Both Maldini will continue to comply with quarantine until complete clinical recovery.

Harassing intruders

Like all residents of countries with severe epidemiological conditions, athletes have to comply with quarantine and spend time at home in isolation from the outside world. However, some do not follow these rules.

Real Madrid forward Luca Jovic has angered fans after breaking the quarantine regime twice. At first, he could not stand the two-week isolation that was introduced against all the players of the royal club after the infection of the basketball player Trey Tompkins, and flew to his native Serbia. There he was also supposed to be at home for two weeks, as required by the authorities from new arrivals to the country. However, Jović was soon seen walking in the streets of Belgrade. Moreover, in social networks, he demonstrated that he continues to lead an active lifestyle.

Many of his fellow citizens were dissatisfied with the behavior of the football player, including Serbian President Aleksandr Vučić, who said that next time Jović would be arrested if he violated the quarantine conditions. He was also threatened with possible detention by Interior Minister Nebojsa Stefanovich.

Jovic himself justified himself by not knowing the new strict rules in his own country. According to him, he received permission from Real Madrid to go home and twice passed negative tests for coronavirus. The athlete had to apologize through social networks. Interestingly, in the midst of this scandal, Jovic's friend Sofia Milosevic talked about her pregnancy. The 22-year-old will soon become the father for the second time.

The coronavirus pandemic also provoked attacks on Georgina Rodriguez, a friend of Juventus striker Cristiano Ronaldo. While the player was ordered to quarantine at home in Portugal, she took a shopping trip, which did not go unnoticed by Ronaldo fans. After that, they left several negative comments on Rodriguez's social networks, accusing her of a frivolous attitude to the health of the football player.

About teammate Ronaldo Gonzalo Higuain also became aware that he did not comply with the quarantine regime. According to Italian media, the striker left the country and headed to Argentina in a private plane. However, the football player had a good reason for that - he left the Juventus location to visit his sick mother.

Quarantine Weekdays

It’s not easy for many athletes to comply with quarantine at the height of the coronavirus pandemic. So, Canadian tennis player Eugenie Bouchard admitted on Twitter: “I am not complaining, but there is a feeling that quarantine would be much more fun with a guy.”

At the same time, Italian biathlete Dorothea Wierer is experiencing opposite problems. She jokingly told fans on Instagram that she could no longer tolerate her husband’s presence for the sixth day in a row.

Basketball player Philadelphia Seventi Sixers Matisse Tybull spends quarantine time for a new game. The 23-year-old sportsman is having fun trying to get into a small hole with a table tennis ball from a variety of positions. Several times he managed to show miracles of accuracy.

Kazakhstani tennis player Yaroslav Shvedova has to comply with quarantine not at home, but in the hospital, as she flew home on the same flight with a woman whose coronavirus was detected. The athlete is now isolated from her family, but continues to train in order to maintain good shape. The Shvedova’s COVID-19 test showed a negative result, but she still needs to observe two-week quarantine.

WBA Super and IBF boxing champion Josh Taylor and his trainer Ben Davison also caught the eye of doctors. They were removed from the flight with suspected coronavirus. It later turned out that this happened after their colleague, WBO World Champion Billy Joe Saunders, called Delta Airlines and said that his friend might be infected. As a result, all three, according to The Mirror, were disembarked from the aircraft. Saunders assured that he did not try to play off his friends, but really suspected that they were in danger, and therefore took such measures.

Figure skating coach Eteri Tutberidze pointed out the inadmissibility of underestimating the problem of the spread of coronavirus. She urged her Instagram followers to follow all the necessary protective measures and not to forget about wearing masks, even if a person feels healthy.

“We need some temporary self-isolation, wearing masks, keeping a distance, if possible, and hand hygiene so that the virus stops spreading geographically at lightning speed. These are simple requirements, but they are necessary. There is no need to panic, but one cannot underestimate the situation. An adult must explain this to the child. I wish you all good health, our planet a speedy recovery. Please take care of yourself and others, ”Tutberidze urged.
