Big star of containment with books and Netflix, the video game will (almost) revive Serie A in these hard times of quarantine. A television channel has set out to bring together Italian football stars like Mario Balotelli, Javier Pastore, Andrea Pirlo, Fabio Cannavaro (from China) and Marco Materrazzi for a major console tournament.
The first and only rule of this new championship: stay at home, of course, while Italy has been subject for eight days to strict travel restrictions to fight the spread of the virus. "They will challenge each other in slippers from their living room and you will be able to follow it live", explain the organizers on the website of the program "Le Iene" (the hyenas), an entertainment program extremely well known in Italy.
The champion will be known on Monday
The tournament will be played on a game console, at Fifa 2020, one of the most renowned football video games and, to make it even more true, the matches will be commented on by Pierluigi Pardo, one of the most famous voices in Calcio. The draw is scheduled for Wednesday and the start of the games is set for Thursday. The “Quarantine Champion” will be known on Monday after the grand final.
