"Nike" sportswear company closes its stores in the United States, Canada, Europe, Australia and New Zealand from today until 27 March to reduce the outbreak of the new Corona virus, according to a statement issued by the group today.

"We decided to close our stores in several countries ... to reduce the spread of the Corona virus emerging (Covid 19)," the American group said.

The closure will include stores located in the United States, Canada, Western European countries, Australia and New Zealand.

"The closings will be from Monday March 16 to Friday 27," the statement added, adding that its online stores are still available to customers.

Meanwhile, Nike stores in South Korea, Japan and most parts of China are still open, according to the group.
