It was yesterday's SHL match in Malmö that the nasty scenes took place.

Växjös forward Brendan Shinnimin got a tackle from Malmö's Adam Ollas Mattsson and went with his head before entering the coffin and stayed on the ice.

Have left the hospital

He was then taken to a stretcher and taken to hospital by ambulance, and the period was prematurely canceled.

However, Shinnimin had to leave the hospital after an examination, and greeted via Växjö Laker's Twitter account that, according to the circumstances, he is doing well. However, how long he stays away from games is unclear.

"Great injury risk"

Now the Swedish Ice Hockey Association has issued its verdict, after the situation room came with a notification. Adam Ollas Mattsson is suspended in three matches, and is fined SEK 10,000.

The Disciplinary Board mentions two key factors in the decision:

  • This is a tackle from behind close by, which is done with the club and which is inserted high up in the back of the opponent
  • Great injury risk

The three match-long suspension means that Adam Ollas Mattsson misses Malmö's last two basic series matches, as well as the first playoff match.
