The Tunisian champions, Esperance, bid farewell to the CAF Champions League last two seasons this season, despite their 1-0 victory over Egyptian Zamalek in the second leg of the quarter-finals on Friday.

Esperance lost 2-3 in the outcome of the first leg of the return leg after losing 1-3 in the first leg last Friday at Cairo International Stadium.

Bilal Bin Saada scored Espérance's goal and the only match from a penalty kick five minutes from the start, but the defending champion failed to add more goals to the strength of Zamalek's defense.

Zamalek will face the winning team in the face of Congolese Mazembe and Raja Casablanca, which takes place on Saturday, as the Moroccan team won 2-0 in Casablanca last Friday.

Zamalek, crowned five times, qualified for the first time since 2016 when they lost the title in the final match against South Africa's Mamelodi Sun Downs.
