"That's the message we have right now," says Pierre Mignerey, competition manager at the International Ski Federation, to Expressen.

Three sprint races remain of the World Cup - and all are scheduled to be decided in North America in the form of a sprint cup. The first two are decided in Quebec, Canada, while the final is decided in Minneapolis, USA.

Pellegrino, currently four in the sprint cup, is welcome to take part in competitions in Canada that do not have as tough regulations as the United States. He stops the last race.

"A little tougher"

- The rules at the US border are a little tougher for citizens in some specific countries right now. They must not come in without a 14-day quarantine, says Mignerey.

For Pellegrino, the message is disappointing. Due to the race schedule, he has not been in Italy for several weeks, not since the corona eruption. But he feels stamped.

"In Trondheim, many Norwegians looked at me as if I were a virus," Pellegrino told NRK.

Pierre Mignerey states that Fis and the American Ski Association are working to find a solution with the US authorities.
