The FIM, IRTA and Dorna have announced the cancellation of the Qatar GP of MotoGP, the first race of the season, to be held next weekend, due to fear of the coronavirus.
According to the organization, the outbreak "has brought into force travel restrictions in Qatar that affect passengers in Italy, among other countries. As of Sunday, March 1, all passengers arriving in Doha on direct flights from Italy, or who have been in Italy in the last 2 weeks, will be directly quarantined for a minimum of 14 days. "
This measure will prevent the queen category from starting. However, the Moto2 and Moto3 categories will be disputed , since the riders of both categories were in Losail performing a pre-season test.
