It is for the Finnish newspaper Ilta-Sanomat that a source tells us that there is dissatisfaction within the Finnish national team.

The source states for the magazine that the national team wants service men who are in better physical condition to be able to contribute in ski testing, and that they are now taking feedback too personally and that riders no longer dare to give constructive criticism.

In addition, language skills should be something that makes Finland's relations with equipment and whey manufacturers not at the level it should be.

- A little pointedly it can be said that every athlete fears before every competition that everything should go to the forest, says the source.

Do not appreciate anonymous criticism

However, the national team management does not estimate that the criticism will come anonymously, and had wanted to solve it in a different way.

- No one in the service team liked what they heard. I think the anonymous feedback is the worst thing about this, as we act as a team. If someone has something on their heart, you can come to us and say it face to face, says service manager Aki Hukka to Yle.

"Our flop days are incredibly bad"

The ski association's operations manager Ismo Hämäläinen also criticizes Ilta-Sanomat, where he mentions the lack of success.

- The problem is that our "flop days" are incredibly bad. With a mediocre effort we can't do it, and if we have a super day, at least one other top country often has it, says Hämäläinen.

But that view is not shared by national team manager Matti Haavisto.

- That's his opinion, I trust our service team. Everyone has good and bad days, says Haavisto.
