The series sovereign HV71 showed class in the first period and the first goal came already after two and a half minutes.

A passive home defense looked at how Kennedy Marchment, from the position behind the cash register, found himself in the palace to a prominent Kaitlyn Tougas.

Michelle Löwenhielm then went 2-0 and 3-0 before the first period ended. First she directed a back shot from Anna Kjellbin, then took advantage of Hanna Olsson's mistake in Djurgården's defense zone and played forward Löwenhielm.

Djurgården took time out, but instead of a reduction, 4-0 came halfway into the match when Jenny Antonsson carefully appeared at the far post.

Meet again on Saturday

Every now and then, the game felt settled, but the home team had not given up.

Sofie Lundin reduced to 1-4 with a neat wrist shot and Josefin Bouveng then shrunk the distance to 2-4 after a quick turnaround at the beginning of the third period.

However, HV71 kept the nerves in control and eventually won 6-2 before 158 spectators at Hovet.

The second semi-final will be played in Jönköping on Saturday at 12.00.
