Fight against discrimination

Last week, fighters against various inequalities loudly declared themselves. So, the football team of the United States demanded $ 66 million from their country's football federation for gender-based discrimination. The athletes filed a lawsuit against officials back in March 2019, accusing the employer of “legalized discrimination on the basis of sex.” In their opinion, this affects the level of salaries and the quality of security. The necessary documents have been submitted to the Los Angeles County Court. The high-profile process should begin on May 5.

And during the match of Germany’s third football division between Preisen Münster and Würzburger Kickers, spectators helped to detain a violent fan who insulted a black player on a racial basis. The bully tried to exert a psychological effect on Leroy Quadvo, imitating the behavior of a monkey. This did not meet with approval from the rest of the fans. Some began to chant: “Get out, Nazi!” Others complained to the police, who, after the trial, arrested a fan.

Serbian fans stand for Orthodoxy

Fans of the Belgrade Red Stars last week opposed the law on religious freedom adopted in Montenegro. This legal act provides for the transfer to state ownership of all religious objects that the country owned before December 1, 1918, when it became part of the Kingdom of Serbs, Croats and Slovenes. It is believed that the law is directed against the Serbian Orthodox Church, since it infringes on its rights on the Montenegrin territory.

At the Serbian football championship game between Crvena Zvezda and Vojvodina, fans staged a large-scale performance. The goal was to support the Orthodox of Montenegro, which for two months have been protesting against the decision of the authorities.

The ice flooder stood at the gate of the "Carolina"

Sport is good because sometimes unexpected characters get their moment of fame. This is exactly what happened with the driver of the ice-filling machine, David Ayres. During the match with the Toronto Maple Leafs, Carolina Hurricanes coach Rod Brindamor was in a critical situation. One after another, due to injuries, goalkeeper James Rymer and his successor Peter Mrazek were out of action. There were no other goalkeepers at the location of Carolina, so the coaching staff had to resort to the help of 42-year-old Ayres.

He never played in professional hockey leagues, but, as it turned out, he knows how to not only fill the ice. Ayrs boldly dressed in goalkeeper's ammunition and went to the "last frontier". For 28 minutes, the driver repelled eight shots and missed two goals. He was recognized as the first star of the match and was honored in the locker room. “Hurricanes” won with a score of 6: 3. For the first time in NHL history, the so-called goalkeeper for emergencies won.
