The reigning Olympic football team in Brazil, Brazil, secured a place in this year's Olympic tournament in Tokyo. This is after a 3-0 victory over the arch-rivals Argentina in the South American qualifier in Bucaramanga, Colombia.

Bayer Leverkusen striker Paulinho started the goal in the eleventh minute and Matheus Cunha, everyday in Hertha Berlin, scored the other goals.

The Argentine players did not go too far in the match as they were already ready for the Olympics.

Meaningless final

Both the United States and Canada were ready for Olympic games following the semi-finals the other day over Mexico and Costa Rica, respectively.

So the final of the qualifier in Carson, California, was meaningless.

But there was plenty of prestige in the North American meeting, which eventually won the reigning world champions from last year, USA, by 3-0.

The goals were all made in the second half by Lynn Williams, Lindsey Horan and Megan Rapinoe.
