The Colombian world champion Hector Leonardo Paez and the Slovenian Plaza Biantarik crowned the first edition of the "Hero Dubai Hatta" championship, which was held for the first time in the region, and is considered the first round of the "Hero World Series Mountain Bikes 2020", which is included in the agenda of the International Cycling Federation.

The Hatta region hosted the championship competitions on the morning of yesterday, and was organized by "X Dubai", under the auspices of Meraas, in partnership with the Dubai Sports Council, and more than 400 riders from 50 countries participated. The race started from the Hatta Valley, Dubai National Park, and the riders enjoyed the picturesque atmosphere and clear weather in the mountains that increased the enthusiasm of the race.

The professional race included two tracks: the first was attended by a group of male and female world champions, and they took a path of 60 kilometers, climbed curves with a height of 1600 meters, and the second track spanned 30 kilometers and curves with a height of 800 meters, and the tournament also included the establishment of an amateur race and a children's race.

Leonardo Paez of the Giant Polly Medical team won the first place in the professional race, after finishing the race in a time of two hours, 7 minutes, 29 seconds, and 6 parts of a second, while Estonian rider Bruce Peter of the MTB Pro team came second after he finished the race Bayes were just four minutes and 28 seconds behind, and Henk Christian of (Future Science) came in third.

In the women's professional race, the Slovenian Plaza Biantarik of the Bienetem team won the first position after finishing the race in a time of two hours 35 minutes and 6 parts of a second, followed by Lithuanian Susanna Katalazina of the MTB Pro team, and the Iranian Bartozar Varnak finished third.

In the 30-kilometer race, Jean-Bradley de Leon of the Wolfs Bike Shop team won first place, followed by Albert Bactul of the Al Ain MTB team in second place, then Shannon O'Connor of Dubai Emirates team in third place. As for the same category of women, Audrey Trucci won, followed by Sony Skafler, and Irene Conde came third. The Hero Championship is the most difficult race in the world, and the beginning of the establishment of this championship was 10 years ago in Italy, which is the first time that it is organized in the Middle East through the opening round in Hatta, which is a global series consisting of three rounds, and the second will be in Italy in June, then Thailand's third stop in October 2020.

The second stage of the tournament will be held in Italy, and the third in Thailand.
