Swedish sport has been hit by two doping scandals in just one week.

Following Monday's announcement that Jenny Fransson had tested positive for the anabolic steroid methyltestosterone, it became known on Friday that the Swedish cross-country gold medalist, Robel Fsiha, was also in control.

Last December, the 23-year-old rattled in the Portuguese capital Lisbon, finishing one in the European Championship, twelve seconds ahead of Turkish duo Aras Kaya. But now it is clear that Fsiha, originally from Eritrea and granted Swedish citizenship 2018, was tested positive for a banned substance just a few weeks before her European Championship triumph.

"Disappointed at the guy"

Silver medalist Kaya has not received the doping message calmly.

- I'm disappointed with the guy. He cheated when everyone else was clean, the 25-year-old tells the newspaper.

Kaya expects Fsiha to be deprived of his gold medal and that he himself will soon be named new European champion.

- I hope so. He was not clean, so the European Union must declare me a winner now, says Aras Kaya to Aftonbladet.

Robel Fsiha has until February 14 to announce whether he wants a B-test analyzed.
