The outbreak of the Corona virus now causes the International Ski Federation (Fis) to choose to suspend the World Cup competitions that would have been held in Yanqing Chinese on February 15-16.

- Although the risk level in Yanqing is low, the health and well-being of the athletes and all participants is the priority. It is also important for the athletes to be able to focus on the brand new and very challenging course, says Fis chairman Gian Franco Kasper in a statement on the federation's website.

The races would have been the first in the World Cup ever run in China, and the first at international level in the upcoming Olympic slopes.

Fis writes on their website that they will be announcing when the downhill and super-G races will run.
