World number one Rafael Nadal, Austrian star Dominic Thiem, has been deprived of the form by his Swiss rivals Roger Federer through the current edition of the Australian Open, and ended his career in the championship by exiting the quarter-finals after a four-hour and 10-minute match.

Thim completed the contract of the finalists of the Australian Open, the first Grand Slam (Grand Slam) this season, by defeating Nadal 7-6 7-6 4-6 7-6 today.

The fifth seed of the tournament qualified for the golden square, in which the seventh-seeded German Alexander Zverev will meet.

Thiem denied his Spanish opponent, Nadal, the first seed of the tournament, of progressing a new step on the path to search for his second title in the Australian Open.

Nadal's dream of equalizing the record number of times won the title in "Grand Slam" championships was postponed, as Nadal's credit was frozen at 19 titles against 20 titles for his traditional stubborn opponent, ranked third in the world.

Earlier in the day, the German Zverev rose for the first time to the semi-finals in one of the Grand Slam tournaments, after he beat Swiss Stanislas Wawrinka 1-6, 6-3, 6-4, 6-2.

The first group in today's match was the first to be lost by Zverev, 22, who ranked seventh in the tournament since the beginning of his career in the current version.

It took Zverev, seeded seventh for the tournament, to two hours and 19 minutes to resolve the match against Wawrinka, seeded 15 for the tournament and crowned her title in 2014.
