Last year, Kungsbacka played DFF in the damall Swedish. It became a last place and degradation to the elite. Now the whole club is threatened with closure.

This evening, an extra annual meeting is held. There is really only one item on the agenda where an alternative is "dissolution of the association".

- The question is whether there are any alternatives really. Either you dissolve the association, or it is determined that our representation team withdraws from the elite, says Johan Johqvist, chairman of the association.

Joint venture

The football club was formed in 2013 as a joint venture from several clubs in the Kungsbacka area, with the goal of creating an elite team in the ladies' swan. After victory in the elite 2018, the team went up in the highest series.

But the collaboration between the various clubs has been cracking down for several years and without the organization around the team, the journey has become turbulent.

- You have been a little blind and gassed. In recent years, the association has had to renegotiate the contracts with the players every year because they have not had money to pay, says Johqvist.

This has led to major financial tightening. Especially as the club lost over half a million because they were forced to play their matches in Varberg when Tingbergsvallen in Kungsbacka was not considered to be the benchmark for damall Swedes.

- This year we have done a toxic clean-up of the economy, says Johan Johqvist.

Granted elite license

As a result, the club was granted an elite license in November.

But most players from last year have still chosen to leave the club. Linnéa Bjöörn is one of them.

- I think almost everyone has gone to new clubs, she says.

She herself has moved to Lidköping in the elite.

- There was a lot of clutter around us that our players couldn't influence. We tried to focus on the game instead. But in the end, it took energy from what happened on the pitch as well, she says.

Ideal basis

The player escape means that the club is basically without a troupe for the coming season. And that's problematic.

- There is hardly a player in the Kungsbacka area who wants to sign a contract with Kungsbacka DFF after the contract years of recent years, says Johan Johqvist.

Still, the big problem is the organization all around.

- We have been three who have run the entire organization on a nonprofit basis. It is not possible to conduct elite activities, says Johan Johqvist.

Tonight the club's journey may be over.
