It was at the end of last year that Jack lost the title match against WBA champion Jean Pascal on points. The verdict was debated in the boxing world and many people felt that the Swede was sentenced - again.

After Jack left the ring in Atlantic City, he only did one interview, for an American podcast last week.

Now the star breaks the silence for Swedish media too.

- I think I won the match, but was doomed, Jack tells SVT Sport during a visit to Stockholm.

"One second from stopping the match"

You were beaten in the fourth round. What happened?

- I won that round for sure until I ran straight into one of his turns. But I jumped up quickly again and won every round after that.

You floored him in the twelfth round, but he claims he just slipped?

- He couldn't even stand up when we would take a picture with each other afterwards. It was a knockdown.

How bad was he?

- I felt I almost had him. There are no excuses, I should have finished him. At the airport the day after, I met the ring judge who said he was a second away from stopping the match. It is what it is.

"Should have had five more belts"

Jack has come to the wrong side a controversial verdict after other even title matches.

Now he is in the process of changing style, becoming more aggressive and trying to finish the matches earlier.

- I have to beat all my opponents. The matches must no longer go to court. If I knock them out, I don't have to worry about being sentenced. I have to win the knockout in all matches from now on.

How are you affected by the verdict? Have you thought about whether it's worth continuing?

- Of course, it is not fun to hold on when you are sentenced. I should have had maybe five more belts in the price cabinet and made a lot more money. But I still feel young and plan to fight on.

May be return meeting in April

Jack turns 37 in October, but does not feel he has slowed down.

He hopes to have a new title match against Jean Pascal in April or May.

- We are working on it and my team will announce my next match soon.

Is the Pascal match you prefer?

- Right now, absolutely. I want to knock him out. I was close to doing it last time and if there is a return meeting I will quit the job.

Is he on the same track and wants to meet you?

- I don't think he wants to meet me again, he probably wants an easier match because he knows what will happen this time.
