We miss Kobe Bryant already. The Lakers star died on Sunday after a helicopter crash in the suburbs of Los Angeles. He was one of the greatest players in history, the idol of a generation and five-time NBA champion.
Youngest player in league history
Drafted in 1996 without having gone through university (extremely rare), Bryant won his first title in the North American League in 2000. It was not until 16 years later, after having won four more, as well as two Olympic gold medals.
He will remain loyal to the Lakers until 2016, the year when the indestructible number 24 decides to retire. He remains one of seven players to have scored more than 30,000 NBA career points.
