Despite Therese Johaug winning the Tour de Ski in superior style, the Norwegian showed that she is not unbeatable in the distance race. But after the tour, Johaug has been equally superior. In today's skiathlon race in German Oberstdorf - where the World Cup will be decided next year - she was never threatened.

After 3.8 kilometers she had already pulled a lead for five seconds before Ingvild Flugstad Östberg. When skiing to freestyle, the distance to Östberg had grown to 14 seconds. In the end, Therese Johaug won by 1.5 seconds.

Evenly behind

Behind Johaug it was much smoother. At the ski exchange Ebba Andersson was in sixth place, 16 seconds after Johaug. The Swedish star made a strong sprint - but it was not enough for a podium. Östberg finished second and at the rally Ebba Andersson was third, but Terese Stadlober sprinted past her and finished third.

- She didn't really get to the last 400 meters. I thought she tried well up, but did not get to the final curve, says SVT Sports expert Anders Blomquist.
