In Sunday's summit, Djurgården's Jennifer Wakefield tackled HV 71's Sidney Morin in the head.
Today, the 30-year-old Canadian received his sentence.
Wakefield is suspended in four games for the effort, which took place at the end of the second period. She is suspended until January 29. In the judgment, the Disciplinary Board mentions that the injury risk is great and that she tackles a non-puck-carrying player.
The decision also shows the Canadian defense. She does not agree with the Disciplinary Committee on the judgment at all.
“I made a quick decision to protect my head and I do not regret that decision. I think it is offensive that the Disciplinary Board would describe it as participating in a 'violent' situation ”, it is possible to read in the judgment.
In addition to Wakefield, Gothenburg's right-back, Canadian Ellie Punnett, will be shut down by four matches for a tackle in the match against Linköping last Saturday.
