Thanks to his performances during the Swedish Championships last fall, both 18-year-old Anita Östlund and 19-year-old Nikolaj Majorov get the chance in the European Championships.

However, the favorite lies with the Russians, at least on the women's side, where the reigning European champion, Sofia Samodurova, did not even manage to qualify because of domestic competition. 16-year-old Alena Kostornaia and 15-year-old Anna Shcherbakova are considered two big favorites.

On the men's side, Sweden has two starts thanks to Big Brother Majorov, Alexander Majorov, finishing eight during last year's European Championships. In addition to little brother Nikolaj, Sweden sends 21-year-old Illya Solomin, second at the Swedish Championships, who is making a comeback in the European Championship context. The last time he participated in a European Championship was 2014.
