On November 22, it became known that World Athletics suspended the process of restoring VFLA and issuing permits for athletes to play in neutral status. This is due to the investigation of the high jumper Danil Lysenko, in which the leadership of the VFLA was involved, in particular, the resigned Dmitry Shlyakhtin.

Against the background of these events, a conflict arose between the athletes and the federation.
