It was personal best for Dannewitz who had previously only run two World Cup competitions and was then 23rd and 51st.

Shiffrin got a hit and was pushed out into the track and fell on a classic inside ski and was able to join the track. "It was a field trip and very unusual to see," says SVT Sports expert Pernilla Wiberg, who heard that Shiffrin fears knee injuries and developed a precautionary technique when danger arises.
