American star Serena Williams returned to the podium again after an absence of three years, where she won her first title since she became a mother, by winning the New Zealand Oakland Tennis Championship over her compatriot Jessica Bigula 6-3 6-4 today, Sunday, in the final match.

Williams, who won 23 grand slam titles (Grand Slam), performed impressive in her semifinal match and beat her fellow Amanda Anisimova in just 43 minutes, to play the final with tremendous spirits.

Serena continued to shine during the final match and settled her two consecutive groups to win the title No. 73 in the record of her participation in the championships of the World Association of professional tennis players.

In her speech during the coronation ceremony, Serena announced that she would donate all the money she earned from winning the Oakland Championship to the Australian Forest Fire Victims Relief Fund, in addition to donating the clothes she wore during her nine matches in the tournament, where she participated in singles and doubles competitions.

And it took Serena, 38, to take an hour and 36 minutes to beat her opponent in the final match and crown her first title since she won the Australian Open in 2017, after which she was absent for a while because of pregnancy and giving birth to her, and she did not crown any championship during the last period since her return.

Serena is preparing for the final match of the doubles category in the current championship, as she competes with her close friend, Danish Caroline Wozniacki, in the face of the duo of the Americans, Asia Muhammad and Taylor Townsend.

This is a preparatory course for Serena, who is preparing to participate in the Australian Open on 20 this month, and will try to win her 24th title to equal Australian Australian Margaret Court.

It is reported that Williams won her first international championship in 1999 in France.
