Angers defender Rayan Aït-Nouri, released on a stretcher Saturday against Nice (1-1), suffers from a double jaw fracture and was operated on Sunday, said his coach Stéphane Moulin, who fears an absence of several months.

If the duration of unavailability of the lateral promising SCO (18 years) is not defined, "we do not speak in weeks, but in months," said Moulin, who fears up to 4 months out.

Angers could recruit a replacement to his post

The Angevin coach deplored the violence of the shock suffered by Aït-Nouri during a contact with the Niçois Hicham Boudaoui. "The referee [Willy Delajod] did not see that there was a little too much over-engagement," he said.

Moulin said he regretted the long absence of his young defender, "not a typical player" in the workforce of Angers. This long unavailability could push Angers to recruit to the position of left side from this winter transfer window, which closes on January 31.

International under 18 with France, Rayan Aït-Nouri has experienced good progress in recent months, to the point of interest of several large clubs. He played 16 Ligue 1 games in 2019-2020.
