Just as in the women's race, it was initially a unified starting field in the men's mass start classic style over 15 kilometers. Admittedly, Gleb Retivych did a mini-jerk and took 15 bonus points after 2.3 kilometers. But the Russian was caught in quickly and after five kilometers it was twice Swedish in Calle Halfvarsson and Jens Burman.

After 8.5 kilometers, bonus seconds were handed out and just before that Johannes Hösflot Kläbo made a huge rush. Kläbo reached the top, taking a maximum of 15 bonus seconds. Calle Halvarsson was still in the top, but he had slipped to a tenth place. Halfvarsson was in the top right up to the lap when he was nine, just 3.5 seconds after Alexander Bolshunov. But the best Swedish was Jens Burman who had reached the fifth place.

In the last lead Sergei Ustiugov. But in the sprint he had to go to Johannes Hösflot Kläbo, who spurted down the Russian. Trea became Alexander Bolshunov.
