There were several poignant speeches in the church. There were plenty of teammates on site.

"She is with us in the spirit and we feel it in a strong way," says the Jamaican World Cup player Khadija Shaw who gave a speech on behalf of the national team, says Jamaica Observer.

It was a dispute about a cellphone with another woman that ended with the tragic end. Clarke was one of the few Jamaican players to represent Jamaica at all levels: the U15, U17, U20 and the A national team called Reggae Girlz.

In passing, Clarke had made it clear to combine studies with football at Daytona College in Florida after the turn of the year and to continue to develop the career that was just in its infancy.

Clarke did not attend the summer World Cup finals in France but was a member of the Jamaican team that participated in the Pan American Games in Lima, Peru, in juii. She scored two goals in the team that advanced from the first round of the Caribbean Olympics in October.

Government representatives attended the funeral

Coffin was draped in a collage of images that summarized her football career.

Government representatives were present at the funeral as well as the senior management of the Jamaican Football Association and many friends and teammates. Likewise her parents.

- I had the great pleasure of training one of the best football players I have had in many years. There are two moments I will never forget: The day I met Tarania and the day she drew her last breath. As a football player, she was a coach's dream not only for her talent but because she was so selfless and helpful, says her local football coach Xavier Gilbert.

- A thousand words won't take her back, not a thousand tears either, I know because I tried, says the coach.
