In the Premier League, Liverpool finished last season in second place with a record number of points in its history, reaching 97 points, and now it leads the league table by eight points against its closest rival, second-placed Leicester City, and is looking forward to crowning the title for the first time since 1990.

"In 2015, we used the expression (perfect fit) when we appointed Klopp. This is still valid today ... We consider it the best (for the position). Jurgen fulfilled his promise to the club and the club fulfilled his promise to Jurgen," club Liverpool said in a statement on its website.
