Dubai is witnessing today the launch of the Dubai Grand Prix speedboat competition (X Cat), the closing round of the 2019 World Championship. His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairman of Dubai International Marine Sports Club, welcomed the teams, contestants and international committees participating in organizing the major international event.
In a press statement, His Highness said: “We are delighted at the Dubai International Marine Sports Club and we bid farewell (the Year of Tolerance 2019) to host a world event the size of the World Speedboat World Cup (X Cat), which carries a pure Emirati imprint.”
His Highness stressed: “The event is today one of the most important championships supervised by the International Federation of Marine Racing (UIM), where the gathering of teams and participants is a picture of the tolerance established by the Emirates, especially since the competitions gather 12 boats with 24 competitors from different parts The world, in addition to our heroes. ”
His Highness, President of Dubai Club, confirmed that the Emirates has set the first building block for the development of this championship, thereby placing a prominent imprint, after which it turned from a local and regional championship into a global event.
He wished success to the Emirates sport ambassadors in the participating teams and boats (Dubai Police 3, Abu Dhabi 4, Abu Dhabi 5 and Victory 33).
It is expected that the official experiences of the teams and the participating boats will start in two periods today, the first will start at 11 am, and the second will start at three thirty in the afternoon.
Besides the UAE champions, the list of participants also includes Maritimo 12 (Australia), Triple Two 10 (Italy-Australia), HBI 96 (Italy), New Star 9 (Russia), Terrible 17 (Kuwait), De Mitri 20 (Italy) and FedEx 22 (Italy) Console Brokers (Italy).
