The Sports Administration Council, headed by President Paco Zas , has announced his resignation from the position he has held since May 28 and will be effective on January 13. In a statement, the club maintains that the meeting of this Monday has unanimously agreed to convene an Extraordinary General Meeting of shareholders to be held the week of January 13, 2020 .

The agenda of the aforementioned Assembly will aim, says Deportivo, articulate the resignation of the Board of Directors to promote the appointment of a new government team. The Coruña group, Colista de Segunda, indicates that the call will be published as urgently as possible, so that the new team has the longest period to adopt the sports decisions that proceed before the winter market closes.

The Board of Directors, adds the note, "requests all sportsmanship to continue providing maximum support to the team for the remainder of this season."

Zas and his advisers took over the club at the end of May after the resignation of the previous president, Tino Fernández , who had been leading the institution since January 2014. Tino Fernández himself was key in Zas' election by supporting him with his actions and delegates to its Board of Directors.
