Alistain Overeem has lost the UFC fight with Jairzinho Rozenstruik in the absolute final phase on Saturday. The Dutchman was knocked out by the Surinamese with only four seconds to go.
Overeem went down by a straight direct at the end of the fifth round. The 39-year-old MMA fighter had a heavy bleeding lip and the referee immediately ended the game.
The fight between Overeem and Rozenstruik was the main event of the UFC Fight Night in Washington. It is the nineteenth defeat in the MMA career of Overeem, against 45 victories.
Overeem started the fight as the number six of the heavyweights on the UFC ranking, Rozenstruik was the number fourteen on that list. The 31-year-old Surinamese has already won his ten MMA fights since he made the switch in 2017 from kickboxing.
Initially, Overeem would face Walt Harris on Saturday in Washington. The American, however, withdrew when his daughter was abducted. She has since died.

Struve loses after illegal kicks from American
Earlier in the evening, Stefan Struve lost his fight to American Ben Rothwell. The 31-year-old Beverwijker was knocked out at the end of the second round.
Rothwell's victory did not deserve the beauty prize. He was punished twice for an illegal low kick.
