A hot Smålandsderby was rejected at one time when HV71 got a dream start to the match.

"We are going down completely and that is not acceptable," Växjös Erik Josefsson summed up the first period in Cmore's broadcast.

- They already have goals on us in the first exchange. Then it is even playful until they make 2-0. 3-0 and then 4-0 of just the speed it feels like.

The finest of the four HV goals was Alexander Bergström's test of tennis wrist. Directly on a goalkeeper return, he struck and lobbed 2-0 through a volley that went over Växjö goalkeeper Erik Källgren.

The home team looked to be having a hard time with most and just as unsatisfied was the crowd in Växjö who booed their team.

In the second, HV71 would also be the team that continued to have a great deal of pressure and after two periods Växjö had not managed with more than seven shots on goal.

To the home fan's little luck, however, one of Växjö's four shots in the period had passed Jonas Gunnarsson and brought life to the match.

And when Ilari Melart also showed samples of his constant goal form when he sent 2-4 early in the third, it started to feel like something was going on. But the real pressure on the away team did not appear and it was no closer to the team from Kronoberg County.
