Mourinho has returned to the Premier League from Tottenham Hotspur and has become the second most expensive Premier League coach under his new contract, which gives him a double salary for his predecessor Mauricio Pocotino.

Tottenham announced on Wednesday morning that he had signed Mourinho until the end of the 2022-2023 season, replacing Pocotino, who was sacked because of the decline in the Spurs results.

According to the British Daily Mail, Mourinho and Tottenham will receive 15 million pounds a year (about 17.5 million euros), double what Pocotino had with Spurs.

She pointed out that this is the first time that Tottenham signed a coach with major titles such as Mourinho (25 titles) and therefore the London club pay a huge salary.

Mourinho will be the second highest salary in the Premier League after Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola, who earns 20 million pounds a year (around 23 million euros).

Tottenham are currently 14th in the Premier League with 14 points, 20 points behind leaders Liverpool.
