The Egyptian player and Liverpool star Mohamed Salah has set a stand against participating in the Olympic team in Tokyo 2020, before the start of the African Under-23 Championship in which the Egyptian team managed to book the ticket to qualify directly to reach the final in the tournament currently held in Egypt And the Pharaohs went to the Olympics, after an absence from the Rio 2016 Games, for the 12th time in their history.

Egypt qualified for the 2020 Tokyo Olympics after beating South Africa (3-0) on Tuesday at the Cairo stadium in the semi-finals of the African Nations Cup, under-23 years, to rise to face Cote d'Ivoire in the final.

Mohamed Salah, former vice president of the Football Association, said in a televised remarks: "It is my personal responsibility when Salah came to the camp of the Egyptian national team injured assured officials welcome to join the Olympic team upon their arrival to the Tokyo 2020 Olympics."
