Robert Moreno led Spain to group victory in the European Championship qualifiers. But according to media reports, he is now allowed to leave the federal leadership mission.
Luis Enrique, who replaced Moreno earlier this year, is said to be on his way back.

After the 5-0 victory over Romania in the last European qualifying match last night, Moreno never showed up to the usual press conference. According to El Mundo, he should have said a tearful farewell to the national team players instead.

The Spanish Football Federation has called for a press conference today. Then it can be announced that Enrique will return as the League Captain. He resigned five months ago to be with his seriously ill daughter Xana, who passed away in September.

Moreno came in as a temporary solution as early as March, when Enrique took a break, and from June permanently. Moreno said as early as September that he would "gladly" step aside if Enrique wanted the federal job back.

Moreno ruled Spain against seven wins and two draws in the European Championship qualifying, and won Group F by 26 points, five ahead of Sweden.
