In 1969, Modo AIK played against Timrå IK in what was the first organized match between two women's teams.

Today it was time for Modo to celebrate it, in conjunction with Modo Hockey meeting Brynäs IF in SDHL.

Brynäs much better

But for Modo and the 526 spectators there was not much to be pleased about. The series two Brynäs, who lost as late as yesterday with 0-4 against Luleå, were the better team throughout the match and Modo - who is just one point above the qualifying line - was never really close to threatening Brynäs.

In the end it became a clear victory for Brynäs, after including two goals (the first two of the match) by Michella Cava and one of the playing sports manager Erika Grahm - who thus had to score against his former teammates in his old home arena.

- I think we make a good match. We come from a match yesterday when we did a very poor performance, so it was nice that we do a "bounce" back, she tells SVT Sport.

"Lifted us a lot"

It's not as fun for Modo. However, the back Anna Andersson saw positive trends.

- I think we lifted a lot from yesterday (when the team lost by 2-4 against Leksand, ed. Note), but we have a lot of demands to give. We've had a lot of damage and stuff and important players who have to come back and show the way, she said.
