The New York Rangers extend their points suite to four games in a row, following an extension win against Pittsburgh. The home team can thank Kaapo Kakko for much of that victory since he scored the fifth and sixth goals of the NHL career. The first came on a counter just under seven minutes into the first period, which meant Rangers also took the lead.

However, it was a lead that the home team failed to hold, and after 2-2 after regular match ends, it was time for Kakko to step forward again. Adam Fox found the Finnish star rookie standing at the left post, where the 18-year-old was able to steer the puck to victory.

- The first few minutes of the extension were so difficult for us. And then I got a nice fit of "Foxy", so it was easy for me, "Kaapo Kakko tells reporters after the match, adding that it is always fun to score goals in the extension.

Alexandar Georgiev was in the Rangers cage, and Henrik Lundqvist was allowed to rest.
