After last year's success point, where he was selected for this year's rookie after 66 points in 71 games, the new season began a little heavier for the 20-year-old from Ånge.

He left the first two matches speechless, and then another two games with "only" one point awaited.

Typical Petterson target

But lately, things have gotten a lot better for him. Prior to tonight's game away against Los Angeles, he had scored four straight games, and on them scored no less than eight points.

And that suite was extended last night. He accounted for no less than four points, distributed on one goal and three assists. The goal was Vancouver's fifth and final, and was a typical Elias Pettersson goal. In powerplay he got the puck at the left drawing circle, aimed himself and sneaked a distinct wrist shot into the net roof.

Nice pass from the right

His first points in the match were perhaps his nicest, and also the one in powerplay. With 2.23 left to play, he struck a perfectly fine pass from the right circle to the left, past several players to Brock Boeser who from virtually no angle shot the puck into the goal.

His third and final assist was also of the higher class. He struck a pass all the way from the left drawing circle in his own zone, all over the center zone to the blue line to the right. There was again Brock Boeser, who freely rolled forward and put 3–2.

So the score was seventh in two games and twelfth in five. The team also shows good form, and now has four wins in five matches.
