MADRID (Reuters) - Atletico Madrid on Tuesday missed a chance to top the Primera Liga with a 1-1 draw at Deportivo Alaves in the 11th round of La Liga.
With this draw Atletico Madrid rose to 20 points in the runner-up temporarily on goal difference behind leaders Granada, while Deportivo Alaves have 12 points in 13th place.
The players could not take advantage of the opportunities they had throughout the first half of the game and translated into goals to end in a goalless draw.
The series of wasted attacks continued during the second half until the 70th minute came to see the goal of Atletico Madrid through Alvaro Morata.
